COLLECTION OF COMPETITOR RACE PACKS

3pm-5pm Saturday, 22nd of April – Geraldton Foreshore (near surf club tower):

Please collect your race pack containing your race number and timing chip at the Geraldton Foreshore between 3pm and 5pm on Saturday.

RACE BRIEFING PRIOR TO RACE DAY

5pm Saturday, 22nd of April – Geraldton Foreshore (near surf club tower):

The race briefing for all competitors and teams will take place at the Geraldton Foreshore on Saturday at 5pm.  EACH COMPETITOR MUST ATTEND THE RACE BRIEFING.

 

CHECK-IN ON RACE DAY

5.45am Sunday, 23rd of April – Geraldton Foreshore (near surf club tower):

Please arrive no later than 6.30am on the morning of the race, Sunday 23rd of April. The transition area will close at 6.50am

 

RACE START TIME

7am Sunday, 23rd of April – Foreshore Beach (near surf club tower):

The race will kick-off at 7am.  Competitors must be ready on the Foreshore town beach by 6.50am, ready for the race start.

Wave Starts

Long Course - 7.00am

Short Course - 7.45am

 

AWARDS PRESENTATION

1.30pm Sunday, 23rd April – The Geraldton Hotel Beer Garden

Please join us for the post-race celebrations and awards presentations from 1.30pm to 4pm.  Light refreshments will be provided.

 

RACE BELTS

Competitors will be required to wear a race belt to display their race number, so please ensure you have a race belt with you on the day (for team's, there will be one race number provided per team) .  This is to be displayed at the back during the ride leg of the race and displayed at the front during the run (Note: the race number is not required to be worn during the swim).  Race belts are available for purchase at the race venue for $15.

 

TIMING CHIPS

Each competitor will be provided with an electronic timing chip and band (for team's, one timing chip and band per team) which is to be worn on the left ankle at all times during the race.  The timing chip must be returned at the race finish.  Unreturned timing chips will incur a fee of $20.

It is each team member's responsibility to ensure they are familiar with the race course.

USE OF WETSUITS

Wetsuits are permitted for the Geraldton Toyota Endure Batavia Triathlon swim, unless otherwise advised by the Race Director during the race briefing.

 

DRAFTING

Drafting is strictly not allowed in the Geraldton Toyota Endure Batavia Triathlon.  Competitors will be penalised for drafting. The draft zone is seven metres (roughly four bike lengths).  Competitors must stay at least four bike lengths behind the competitor in front of them to correctly avoid the draft zone.

Prize money applies to participants in the long and shorts courses:

Individuals Pro/Open- Male & Female:

1st  - $2,500 cash prize
2nd - $1,500 cash prize
3rd - $1,000 cash prize

Individuals Age Groupers (All age groups combined) - Male & Female:

1st  - $500 cash prize
2nd - $250 cash prize
3rd - $100 cash prize

First Local Male and Female

All Male Teams:
1st - $200 cash prize

All Female Teams:
1st - $200 cash prize

Mixed Teams:
1st - $200 cash p:rize

Short course prize money

COURSE DISTANCES

LONG COURSE - 1.5km ocean swim / 44km bike ride / 10km run

SHORT COURSE - 750m ocean swim / 22km bike ride / 5km run
