Race Information

COLLECTION OF RACE TIMING CHIPS

6am -7:30am Sunday, 22nd of April –  Rundle Park, St Georges Beach

Please collect your race pack containing your timing chip, swim cap etc from Registration at Rundle Park, St Georges Beach before 7:30am Sunday 22nd April (Race Day) - Timing chips can be collected early by request. All Finishers will receive a unique Geraldton Finishers medal and entry to the Geraldton Triathlon Clubs wind up evening the following week.

Team Entries

Corporate and other teams are welcome to compete:

Register a team leader and one or two other members

Team members share the same timing chip and must exchange timing chips in a marked box in the transition area

All team members will receive a unique Geraldton Finishers Medal and entry to the Geraldton Triathlon Clubs Wind up evening - the following Sunday

Teams can register for the Olympic or Sprint Distance. Seniors and Junior competitors (over 12) can make mixed teams. All junior competitors must be able to cycle confidently on their own on open roads and be familiar with road rules.

Race Briefing

The race briefing for all competitors and teams will take place at St. George Beach, Bluff Point on Sunday 22nd April

Olympic Distance Briefing 7:40am

Sprint Distance Briefing 8:10am

EACH COMPETITOR MUST ATTEND THE RACE BRIEFING.

 

CHECK-IN ON RACE DAY

6:30 - 7:30am  Sunday, 22nd of April – Rundle Park, St Georges Beach

Please arrive no later than 7.15am on the morning of the race, Sunday 22nd of April. The transition area will close at 7:50am

 

RACE START TIME

8am Sunday,  Sunday, 22nd of April – Rundle Park, St Georges Beach

The race will kick-off at 8am.  Competitors must be ready on st. Georges Beach  by 7.50am Olympic and 8.20am - Sprint Distance ready for the race start.

Wave Starts

Long Course - 8.00am

Short Course - 8.30am

 

AWARDS PRESENTATION

 11am (aproximately) Sunday, 22nd of April – Rundle Park, St Georges Beach

RACE BELTS

Competitors will not be required to wear a race belt - you must display a number (texta) on your arm and calf.

 

TIMING CHIPS

Each competitor will be provided with an electronic timing chip and band (for team's, one timing chip and band per team) which is to be worn on the left ankle at all times during the race.  The timing chip must be returned at the race finish.  Unreturned timing chips will incur a fee of $20.

USE OF WETSUITS

Wetsuits are permitted for the Toyota Sprint & Olympic Distance Triathlon swim, unless otherwise advised by the Race Director during the race briefing.

 

DRAFTING

Drafting is strictly not allowed in the Toyota Sprint & Olympic Distance Triathlon.  Competitors will be penalised for drafting. The draft zone is eight metres (roughly four bike lengths).  Competitors must stay at least four bike lengths behind the competitor in front of them to correctly avoid the draft zone. There will be marshals on the course conducting drafting checks.

LONG COURSE - OLYMPIC  - 1.5km ocean swim / 40km bike ride / 10km run

SHORT COURSE - SPRINT 750m ocean swim / 20km bike ride / 5km run
